Implementers of the LSP-4 met in Vientuļi, Latvia on 24 September and the cornerstone of the main building of the Border Crossing Point „Vientuļi” was laid together with the capsule. Message to the future include evidences of the day – 24 September and year 2014 – local newspaper „Viļakas novads”, Euro and Lats coins, as well the epistle. New Border Crossing Point „Vientuļi” is being built within the only Large Scale Project between the Republic of Latvia and the Russian Federation and after its completion substantially will increase quantitative and qualitative throughput of the point in order to improve overall capacity of BCPs between Latvia and Russia. 22 September 2014 T&L: Malnava College Participates at CSDD Night in Rezekne T&L: Malnava College Participates at CSDD Night in Rezekne

Minister of Transport of the republic of Latvia Mr Anrijs Matīss and Chair of Board of CSDD Mr Andris Lukstiņš (CSDD - Road Traffic Safety Directorate in Latvia) attended the event, organized by Rezekne regional department of CSDD on 18 September 2014 with free-of-charge technical tests of motor vehicles and grand opening of renovated CSDD building, so called CSDD Night. Malnava College participated in the event with its Rtg-Mobile (also well known in Latvia as DemoAuto). Although it was not a direct project event, students and teachers of Malnava College were proud to demonstrate the joint project ELRII-285 “Improvement of higher vocational education in the field of transport and logistics” (T&L) financed and implemented within the framework of Estonia-Latvia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme within European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument 2007-2013. 19 September 2014 Best ENPI Videos awarded in Milan Best ENPI Videos awarded in Milan

ENPI CBC Karelia project „Eco-efficient tourism!” video got a professional jury awardtrip to Milan - in the Video competition „Border issues, border solutions” that was organized by INTERACT and the European Commission in the honour of the European Cooperation Day 2014. 19 videos were submitted for the ENPI category of the contest and awards were handed during the kick-off event of the EC Day on 16 September. Event was hosted by Lombardy Region representing 2014 Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Video of the Estonia-Latvia-Russia CBC Project „EstRusFortTour-2” is ranked as second best and Estonia-Latvia-Russia CBC Programme promo video is ranked as third best by professionals. The European Cooperation Day campaign 2014 is officially opened! On 16 September the kick-off event under the auspices of the Italian Presidency of the Council of the European Union took place in Milan. It offered a journey through the world of cooperation within European Union and across external borders. A virtual journey through events set for 2014 was performed and on 24 September it stopped in Malnava, Latvia, where the Quiz “101 questions about EU and EC Day” for Malnava College students is going to take place. Four ECDay 2013 flagship stories from the past were presented. These were stories of touring across the borders by bus or bike, swimming or surfing in web. On Saturday, 13 September 2014 the European Cooperation Day was celebrated by ENPI Estonia-Latvia-Russia Programme 2007-2013 in Estonia, Sangaste castle in co-operation with trilateral project “Preserve not to lose”. Celebration was marked with many undertakings significant for Sangaste Castle and whole region. The Winter Garden what has been reconstructed in frame of the project was opened again after 70 years and gives now romantic atmosphere to the popular tourism object and historical heritage. On 12 September cross-border cooperation Project “Promoting nature education as efficient mean of awareness raising” (People with nature) held an information session devoted to the European Cooperation Day 2014. This info-activity became a part of big project event in Pskov, Russia, - final conference of the Project and took place during the opening of the Exhibition of schoolchildren’s creative works, prepared for the international competition which lasted for over a year. 10 September 2014 Estonian, Latvian and Russian historical heritage to be preserved during European Cooperation Day Estonian, Latvian and Russian historical heritage to be preserved during European Cooperation Day

With three similar events Estonia-Latvia-Russia CBC Programme is marking European Cooperation Day (EC Day) this year. Joint cleaning activities and preservation actions will be held in Sangaste (Estonia) on 13 September, Dedovichi (Pskov Oblast, Russia) on 25 September and Balvi (Latvia) on 30 September. Historical Sangaste Castle swings and benches and mini-stage around Balvi Grand Oak, as well new tourism map and information boards about Knjazi Gorki Manor and church of the Prophet Elijah of year 1833 in Dedovichi District – all are produced and will be newly installed in project „Preserve not to lose”, which is this year's flagship project and coorganizer of EC Day, sites. As integral part of the EC Day celebration digital expositions  and renovated historical premises in all three sites will be opened. Read more

Three countries – Estonia, Latvia and Russia are uniting efforts to improve life in border area. 50 projects started in years 2011 and 2012 and 18 of them accomplished implementation of activities. Main beneficiaries are identified and improved sites are counted and displayed in a positive and attractive story - original Programme video. 71 000 children and 3700 entrepreneurs are benefiting from project activities and results, 62 historical and 9 sports sites are improved, 39 cultural events organized and 3700 km² of water (biggest is Lake Peipsi) in Programme territory has become cleaner and improved its environmental conditions. This and other questions young writers and artists from Vilani, Karsava and Slisselburg attempted to ask and answer while participating in a camp “Art Has No Borders” in Karsava. The camp was organised within the Latvia – Russia Cross Border Cooperation Project “Forget a Hurry” and lasted from 18 till 22 August. The participants of the camp had an opportunity to attend creative workshops, develop their creative potential and get acquainted with Latvian and Latgalian culture.
