The Project “Reduction of social consequences of an HIV spread in Estonia and Leningrad Region of Russia” (HELPING TO LIVE) which was implemented by joint efforts of Russian and Estonian partners – Social Support and Public Health Foundation «POSITIVE WAVE», St. Petersburg, and NCO “Evrica”, Narva, finalized its work. The project was most important in the current situation of rapid prevalence of HIV in the bordering areas.

Artists and writers from Latvia and Russia gathered in Karsava (Latvia) on 20 June 2014, to celebrate the opening of the open-air stage, which was built through the cross-border cooperation with the Town of Shlisselburg (Russia). The opening of the open-air stage was celebrated with a captivating show by artists from Karsava Municipality and Vilani Municipality (Latvia), and Shilsselburg Town (Russia), serving as a great example of cultural diversity in the cross-border region. The audience had an opportunity to enjoy Latvian folk dances, songs in Latgalian, as well as dance, vocal, drama and acrobatic shows by performers from Shlisselburg. Read more

Project “Tour de Latgale & Pskov” successfully completed its activities and local and foreign tourists can benefit from the fruits of good cooperation of two cross-border regions Latgale, Latvia and Pskov Oblast, Russia. Five cross-border tourism routes were elaborated, that joins both regions into one common tourism destination. Read more
On 26 June in Pskov Regional Oncological Dispensary (Russia) the Final conference of cross-border cooperation project “Development of Hereditary Cancer Prevention Measures in Pskov Region” took place.
New methods for HC management, having been practiced to a high level in Latvia, are introduced in Russia. The knowledge will be used long after this project to ensure the most up-to-date HC management in Pskov Region.

To answer some basic questions people often have about Social media, the EU Neighbourhood Info Centre issued “Using Social media: A handbook for EU funded projects”. This publication is targeted to project implementers and is written in simple language, as well includes plenty of examples, tips and links. Info Centre has gathered experience and questions asked by projects during the communications workshops organised in Neighbourhood countries together with the EU Delegations. Handbook is available in English and Russian languages. Read more
On 6 – 7 June the Final Conference of the Project “Improving availability of medical information and counseling” (MEDINF) took place in Petergof, Russia. Health care specialists from St. Petersburg, Pskov, Kohtla-Jarve and Tallinn gathered to discuss the results of three years’ work. The Project was implemented within the ENPI Estonia-Latvia-Russia CBC Programme and came to excellent results. New solutions in the sphere of medical care introduced to the people of the bordering regions are inspiring and have great potential. Read more
On 19 June near Mirozhskij Monastery in Pskov, Russia, took place Dendropark Day comprising two noteworthy events – official opening of Dendropark after reconstruction in the framework of Cross-Border Cooperation Project “GreenMan” and Children Holiday devoted to the International Nature Protection Day.
The results of the “GreenMan” Project work in Pskov are beneficial for all the inhabitants from the highest officials to the smallest children.

On 2 July in Tartu, Estonia auditors of Estonian partners in 10 projects and on 3 July in Riga, Latvia auditors of Latvian partners in 9 projects took consultations in round table discussions with an aim to exchange information and best practice about important issues that concern final reporting and eligibility of costs. Staff of JTS presented information about provisions of Annex XII of the Grant Contract, legal framework, visibility requirements, evidences of achieved outputs and results as well as available assistance from the JTS and others. From 16 till 20 June the Project “Promoting nature education as efficient mean of awareness raising” (People with Nature) held international nature camp in Rogosi Manor, Estonia. The aim of the camp organized for the schoolchildren of neighboring countries by Tartu Environmental Education Centre and Peipsi Center for Transboundary Cooperation was to let them experience Estonian nature and create better understanding of the relationship between man and nature.
