During the project „Via Hanseatica” five training modules for tourism entrepreneurs were organized in each participating country of the Project “Via Hanseatica” - in Latvia, Estonia and Russia to improve knowledge of product and service development as well as to begin networking and offering new and interesting products based on cooperation. Sille Talvet, Via Hanseatica coordinator says: “Via Hanseatica is no longer just a distant set of words for our service providers. They all know now in which region they provide service and are willing to work together to develop attractive and worthy to visit Via Hanseatica”. Read more
The Nature Education Centre (NEC) "Rāzna" established within the framework of Estonian-Latvian-Russian cross-border cooperation project "People with Nature" and located in Lipuški, Rēzekne Municipality, in the territory of Rāzna National Park was opened on 13 December. Read more
On 11 December, 2013 the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) of the Estonia-Latvia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme 8th meeting took place in Tallinn, Estonia. Chairmanship in the year 2013 is in hands of the Republic of Estonia and meeting was chaired by Ms Silja Lipp – Adviser at the European Territorial Cooperation Bureau in the Ministry of the Interior of Estonia. The representative from the European Commission, Mr Alejandro Eggenschwiler took part in the meeting.

The new European Neighbourhood Instrument was endorsed by the European Parliament on 11 December 2013 with funding more than €15 billion. The European Commission welcomed the vote, saying it would “enable the EU to continue to be a global player and promote its interests and values”. Read more
The ENPI Estonia-Latvia-Russia CBC Programme is carrying out the communication questionnaire. Deadline for providing answers is 16 December 2013. Received answers will be analysed by JTS staff and conclusions will be used for preparation of the Information and Visibility Plan 2014 of the Programme and to plan the communication activities in more effective way in future, as well to understand better the needs of public in the Programme territory, but not only. The questionnaire is prepared in English, Estonian, Latvian and Russian and is not personalised. Any interested person can fill it in and be part of it. Read more
On Saturday, 30 November 2013 in Sigulda Sports and Active Leasure Centre (Latvia) first in Eastern Europe cooled ski track of 1,25 km was opened for cross-country skiing before the snow came to Latvia. Within the corss border activties of the Project „SVS Activetour” 570 600 EUR of ENPI Estonia-Latvia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme co-finacing were granted to build cooled track, service house and stadium round. Total budget of the whole project of cooled track reached 2 Million Euro. Read more
Moving forward in its successful implementation, the Project “Integrated Intelligent Platform for Monitoring the Cross-Border Natural-Technological Systems” (INFROM) organized the training seminar for target groups within the Project activities on 21-22 November, 2013 at Riga Technical University (RTU). On 27 November the seminar “Business-opportunities for the entrepreneurs in Estonia” was organized by the Project “Promoting the use of cultural heritage and resources in product development in border areas” (Business Heritage) in Izborsk, Russia. It was not only an informative seminar, but also an event, giving young entrepreneurs of Pechory – members of school firms, organized within the Project “Business Heritage”, an opportunity to present themselves and their works, and get acquainted with their grown-up colleagues. From 25 to 27 November 2013 three identical seminars related to contractual obligations, eligibility of expenditure and expenditure verification, requirements for accounting and reporting one after other took place in Riga (Latvia), Tartu (Estonia) and Pskov (Russia). High interest from Project’s Experts and Auditors was observed. Questions varied from how to deal with losses due currency exchange, how to distinguish if the changes in Project are minor or major, reporting issues, visibility requirements for book-keeping documents and use of logo on promotional items, as well questions related to agreements with external experts. The Project “Increasing traffic system capability within EE-LV-RU international importance transport corridors” (ESTLATRUS TRAFFIC) continues to develop the guide and e-book "Innovative street space design solutions - Sustainable transport and public space development in the Estonian, Latvian and Russian border cities”.
Within the frame of this work representatives of the Project “ESTLATRUS TRAFFIC” met in Estonia to jointly explore Võru urban environment and then discuss their impressions during the seminar in Tartu.
