On 10 – 11 June 2013 in Sigulda, Latvia Estonia-Latvia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme will hold it’s Annual Event, which this year is devoted to support the tourism development in Programme’s territory. 8 Tourism Projects are supported within the Programme and are well advanced in implementation.

On 12 April 2013 the first Grant Contract within the 2nd Call for Proposals for 198 000 euro of the Programme co-financing has been countersigned by the JMA of the Programme and Valga Town Government, Estonia by the Mayor of Valga Mr Kalev Hark in Riga, Latvia. Cross-border people to people sports project „Be good at sports through three countries” was accepted under the Priority 3 – promoting of people to people cooperation, Measure 3.2. – Cooperation in spheres of culture, sport, education, social and health. On 10-11 April 2013 in Kuressaare, Estonia 7th Joint Monitoring Committee meeting took place. Members of the Joint Monitoring Committee representing National and Regional Authorities from Estonia, Latvia and Russia took a decision to establish two Joint Programming Committees in order to begin preparations of two future European Neighbourhood Instrument Programmes - ENI Estonia – Russia CBC and ENI Latvia – Russia CBC. Meeting was chaired by Ms Silja Sorgus, Advisor within Regional Development Department of the European Territorial Cooperation Bureau at the Estonian Ministry of the Interior.

On 10 – 11 April the Joint Monitoring Committee of the Estonia-Latvia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme will hold its 7th meeting in Kuressaare, Estonia. Representatives from the National and Regional Authorities from Estonia, Latvia and Russia will discuss the next steps for the programming for 2014-2020. Programme implementation will be presented by the Joint Technical Secretariat. The Programme representative from the European Commission, Mr Alejandro Eggenschwiler, will participate in the meeting. Latest changes in the national legislation related to procurements in Latvia were presented in the thematic seminar for Project Managers and procurement specialists of the Programme by Ms Agnese Briška, Director of Methodology Department of the Bureau of Procurement Monitoring. Ms Inta Vingre, Director of Control Department focused on the experience gathered by the Bureau dealing with procurements in EU funded projects. Around 55 participants from Latvia attended the seminar held on 4 April 2013 in Riga, Latvia. Read more

On March 12-13, 2013 Riga Technical University (RTU), within the ELRI-184 project “Integrated Intelligent Platform for Monitoring the Cross-Border Natural-Technological Systems” (INFROM), in cooperation with the project partner St. Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of RAS (SPIIRAS) and associated partners from Latvia and Russia, held a seminar for representatives of project target groups in Latvia.
The purpose of the seminar was introducing Latvian scientists, representatives of local governments, public agencies, private businesses and educational institutions with the information about the project, its intermediate results and possibilities of using project results in the Latvian economy.
