EstRusFortTour2: Project intermediate results, visible and audible.
Project “EstRusFortTour-2” is aimed at increasing accessibility of the unique fortification ensemble as well as improvement of infrastructure of access roads to Narva and Ivangorod fortresses. The works implemented within the project are in full swing now and though they are not finished yet, the impact of the Project is already quite visible.
Much work has been done in Narva Castle Park on drainage system and walkways pavement, installation of street lamps, benches and litter bins. Some trees has been cut down or shaped, and new trees and bushes planted. At present the fountain reconstruction and access road pavement are in process and will be finished in spring.
Construction works in Ivangorod are also on-going. The works on the road, pedestrian walkway, parking area and street lighting are in progress, access stairs to the fortress are close to being ready.

A single audio-tour around Narva and Ivangorod fortresses has been developed in several scenarios (long and short versions - general information tour and a tour based on legends and true stories of the Narva region) in three languages - Russian, Estonian and English.
The project is being implemented by Estonian and Russian partners. The project leading partner is Narva Department for City Development and Economy. The other partner from Estonia is Narva Museum. The partner from the Russian side is Municipal Formation “Ivangorod City”. The total budget of the project, is 1 824 564,85 euro. The Programme is co-financing 90% of the total costs or 1 642 108,36 euro. The co-financing of the partners makes 10% or 182 456, 49 euro. The Grant-contract was signed on 15 December 2011. The project is planned to be finished on 15 April 2014. | |
