HERITAGE BUSINESS: Seminar for Pechory entrepreneurs on cross-border business opportunities.

On 27 November the seminar “Business-opportunities for the entrepreneurs in Estonia” was organized by the Project “Promoting the use of cultural heritage and resources in product development in border areas” (Business Heritage) in Izborsk, Russia. It was not only an informative seminar, but also an event, giving young entrepreneurs of Pechory – members of school firms, organized within the Project “Business Heritage”, an opportunity to present themselves and their works, and get acquainted with their grown-up colleagues.

To mark the beginning of the event a folk greeting song was performed by folk singer, participant of regional and international folk competitions and the Head of Izborsk Culture Centre Anna Letunova.

The deputy Head of the Administration of Pechory District Maria Egorova said welcome words to the participating entrepreneurs and members of school-firms and introduced the results of competition between the entrepreneurs – producers of local Pechory souvenirs.
 
Director of Pskov Chancery of the Consulate General in St Petersburg of Estonian Republic Triin Parts greeted the audience of the seminar and gave useful tips on how to make business with Estonians and in Estonia.

The entrepreneurs of Pechory District and Pskov were introduced with business opportunities in Estonia.
Toomas Hansson, The Head or Tartu office of The Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave a detailed presentation on the ways of organizing a small enterprise in Estonia, possibilities of starting a joint enterprise and services of the Chamber for the foreign business agents.
Senior-specialist of Estonian Tax and Customs Board Nadezhda Dolgin gave useful information about import and export, taxation questions and problems and certification of products.
Business-consultant in Setomaa Aarne Leima informed about regulations of selling in markets and fairs and business-etiquette.

The overall objective of the Project is to develop the competitiveness of SME’s from border areas through the cross border co-operation and the use of local cultural heritage and resources in product development.
