Programme supports the maintenance of cultural and historical heritage
On 18 June the Grant Contract within the 2nd Call for Proposals for 563 130 Euro of the Programme co-financing was countersigned by the JMA of the Programme and Aivars Fomins, the Mayor of Aluksne Municipality (Latvia). Cross-border Project “Two pearls of the landscape parks in Eastern Europe” was accepted under the Priority 2 – Common challenges, Measure 2.2 – Preservation and promotion of cultural and historical heritage and support of local traditional skills.
The project is going to contribute to preservation and popularization of Aluksne and Pavlovsk park complexes as the local cultural heritage and the greatest tourist attractions.
Overall objective:
To preserve and develop cultural and historical heritage of the Pavlovsk and Aluksne palaces and landscape park complexes.
Specific objectives:
- to increase attractiveness of the border regions by preserving and promoting local cultural heritage;
- to preserve significant historical heritage of the landscape parks – small architecture forms;
- to preserve traditions of restoration school of Saint Petersburg and to promote knowledge transfer between partners through cooperation;
- to increase interest of local society and knowledge about landscape parks and palaces complexes, about traditions of parks and to work out a plan of park development;
- to increase Aluksne and Pavlovsk museum capacity and attractiveness.
