"Europe in My Region" - submit your photo!
The competition is launched on June 12th and entries will be accepted until Monday 25 August 2014 (at noon). The 100 pictures with the highest amount of votes, plus up to 50 “wildcard” entries (that were not included in the 1st group with the highest votes), are put forward to a jury of 3 photography professionals who will select 3 winners. The winners will receive their prizes – a trip to Brussels and €1 000 to spend on digital camera equipment - during OPEN DAYS 2014 in October.
The Competition
The Europe in My Region Competition aims to highlight the excellent work that projects across Europe are doing with the help of EU funding, and explore what these projects mean to local communities. To take part, all you have to do is upload photos of a project clearly showing the billboard or plaque or poster, with the EU flag somewhere in the picture, so we know that it has received EU funding. Have a look at the example photos below to see what the billboards and plaques look like. Feel free to be creative and include some fun elements in the photo! We would also like to hear your impressions of the project and what it means to you.
Winners
Three winners will be selected by a jury of photography professionals. Voting begins on 27 August and ends on 8 September. Any Facebook user can vote for your photo, so motivate your friends to do so! Winners will be announced by mid-September 2014.
Prize
Each winner will receive €1 000 to spend on digital camera equipment and a trip for two to Brussels during the European Week of Regions and Cities (6-9 October 2014).
EU regional policy helps to improve transport links and broadband to remote regions, boosts small and medium-sized enterprises in disadvantaged areas, invests in a cleaner environment and improves education and skills. EU funding is also invested in innovation, developing new products and production methods, energy efficiency and tackling climate change.
The deadline to submit your entry is 25 August 2014, 12:00 Central European Summer Time.
