T&L: Malnava College Participates at CSDD Night in Rezekne

Minister of Transport of the Republic of Latvia Mr Anrijs Matīss and Chair of Board of CSDD Mr Andris Lukstiņš (CSDD - Road Traffic Safety Directorate in Latvia) attended the event, organized by Rezekne regional department of CSDD on 18 September 2014 with free-of-charge technical tests of motor vehicles and grand opening of renovated CSDD building, so called CSDD Night. Malnava College participated in the event with its Rtg-Mobile (also well known in Latvia as DemoAuto). Although it was not a direct project event, students and teachers of Malnava College were proud to demonstrate the joint project ELRII-285 “Improvement of higher vocational education in the field of transport and logistics” (T&L).



Director of Malnava College Juris Bozovičs: “Free-of-charge technical tests for motor vehicles and grand opening of the renovated CSDD building were held on 18 September 2014 at Rezekne regional CSDD department. LR Minister of Transport Anrijs Matīss and Chair of Board of CSDD Andris Lukstiņš took part in the event. Malnava College also participated in the event with its Rtg-Mobile (or well known in Latvia as DemoAuto). Students of Malnava College demonstrated possibilities of DemoAuto and provided information on the project ELRII-285 “Improvement of higher vocational education in the field of transport and logistics” (T&L) implemented within Estonia-Latvia-Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme within European Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument 2007-2013, project activities and results. A large number of visitors visited the demonstrations and showed great interest. LR Minister of Transport Anrijs Matīss and Chair of Board of CSDD Andris Lukstiņš visited our exposition.”

The overall aim of the project ELRII-285 is to promote potential of labour market in the field of transport and logistics. The partnership and cooperation between higher vocational education institutions – Malnava College (Latvia) and Pskov Agrotechnical College (Russia) is being developed and strengthened within the framework of the Project. The partners are improving higher vocational education programme in Motor Vehicles according to the latest technologies and labour market tendencies and improving access to education. Within the Project Malnava College has obtained books and study materials, improved study programme, equipped Motor Vehicle electrical testing lab, and marketed its educational offer at regional and international level exhibitions. Now Malnava College is finalizing elaboration of a new study module “Logistics”, Distance Learning Tool and content. In summer and autumn of 2014 academic staff participated in trainings to upgrade qualification. The project is coming to its end in December 2014. Good luck, friends!

Project ELRII-285 „Improvement of higher vocational education in the field of transport and logistics” (T&L) is being implemented within the framework of Estonia – Latvia – Russia Cross Border Cooperation Programme within European Neighourhood and Partnership Instrument 2007-2013. On 07.06.2013. Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development and Malnava College signed Grant Contract No.ESTLATRUS/1.1/ELRII-285/2012/27 on implementation of the Project. The total budget of the Project is 219 616,60 EUR. European Union and Russian Federation co-finance 90% of the Project. Malnava College is Lead partner (Beneficiary) and implements the Project in cooperation with partners from Russia and Latvia – Pskov Agrotechnical College (Russia) and Society „Academic Park” (Latvia).
